HUMAN RIGHT AND ACCESS TO JUSTICE
Youth Advocate for Peace Justice and Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) is committed to upholding the right of all citizens and ensuring unimpeded access to justice for all by CHARLES OKPALAEZE.
In line with its mission statement as a human rights, good governance and social justice advocacy group, Youth Advocate for Peace Justice and Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) recommits itself to protecting the rights of all citizens and ensuring unimpeded access to justice for all irrespective of race, status, political inclination, religious orientation, social beliefs, etc., as this underscores the foundation of freedom, justice and peace which redefines the inherent dignity of human as a sacred being.
It is recalled that YAPJEN in walking the talk has embarked on several human rights interventions: in 2019, YAPJEN ran a campaign on the decongestion of Nigerian prisons and fast-tracking of awaiting trials; were actively involved in the 2020 End SARS protest and the firm demand for justice in retaliation to the police brutality and criminal profiling of Nigerian youths; utterly condemned the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa in 2021 and urged the federal government to swiftly intervene and restore peace; prompted legislative reforms geared towards human rights protection, etc.
While the social justice advocacy group has engendered several human rights interventions, there are other areas it looks to beam its searchlight on and they include: abuses by Boko Haram, killer-herdsmen and bandits, victimisation by government forces, lack of social equality, issues with freedom of speech and gaging of the Press, tribal marginalization, ethnic and criminal profiling etc.
YAPJEN vows not to down the tools until the entire system is sanitized of human rights abuses and the citizens can effectively ventilate their rights without any constraint.
